Whatimpact you will have We are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Project Engineer to manage a datacenter design and build projects in Saudi Arabia.
You'll manage the end-to-end construction lifecycle for innovative, sustainable, and highly efficient datacenter environment.
What you'll do Serve as the project's technical authority (Mechanical or Electrical) for high-density data center builds in Saudi Arabia, coordinating a multidisciplinary team (MEP, safety, controls, QA/QC).
Lead planning, coordination, and on-site management from design through commissioning and client handover, ensuring scope, schedule, cost, and quality.
Own design assurance: review/approve SLDs, P&IDs, layouts, and calculations; drive design closure with consultants and OEMs; ensure requirements traceability.
Integrate Submer liquid cooling (TCS/DLC, CDUs, manifolds) with power, HVAC, chilled-water, and controls; de-risk interfaces, phasing, and constructability.
Manage budgets, procurement, logistics, and installation for cooling, power, and IT infrastructure; supervise contractors/vendors and enforce QA/QC and HSE.
Lead testing & commissioning (FAT/i FAT/SAT, Cx L1–L5), resolve RFIs/NCRs, and secure documentation, training, and punch-list closure for acceptance.
Lead the technical scope of RFPs from day one—requirements capture, clarifications/Q&A, scope matrix, and technical proposal—and own the transition from award to design kickoff, representing Submer with clients, consultants, utilities, and suppliers.
What You'll Need Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related); advanced degree is a plus.10+ years delivering complex data center/mission-critical projects, including strong site execution in the Middle East (KSA preferred).
Deep expertise in either Mechanical (chilled water, CDUs, economization, liquid cooling) or Electrical (MV/LV, UPS/generators, busways/PDUs), with solid working knowledge of the other.
Proven leadership of multidisciplinary engineering teams, subcontractors, and OEMs; clear, client-facing communication and negotiation skills; fluent English (Arabic preferred).
Proficiency with project controls (Primavera/MS Project) and technical tools (Auto CAD/Revit/BIM; ETAP/SKM or hydraulic/thermal modeling a plus).
Strong command of codes/standards and HSE: IEC/IEEE/NFPA/ASHRAE, local KSA regs (e.g., SASO/SEC), method statements, and permits.
Track record leading RFP technical volumes/clarifications/SOWs, integrating advanced liquid cooling in high-density environments, and driving QA/QC, commissioning, and handover to completion.
