**Job Description: Roles & Responsibilities**
- Overall management of QA/QC department, Asphalt & Crusher Plants production.
- Hands on experience in design and testing of Asphalt mixes, emulsion, bitumen, subgrade, subbase production.
- Provide leadership for the successful day to day operation of the facility.
- Monitoring of the production progress as per construction planned schedule.
- Manage the production teams to increase production and generate revenue.
- Manage the QC team to ensure product quality.
- Monitor operation expenses and research ways to reduce costs while maintaining product quality.
- Should be familiar with Soil, types & sizes of Aggregates, Asphalt and cement treated mixes with virgin or recycle aggregates - both material & tests.
- Ensure all raw material is available for work progress as per construction planned schedule.
- Ensure that correct mix is supplied to each job.
- Ensure that correct recipe is used in production.
- Ensure that mix temperature is controlled as to requirement and adjust with weather changes if needed.
- Corrections to mix recipes if needed especially with texture of mix / comments from laying team.
- Quantity reconciliation with laying teams and coordination with plant for production / supply.
- Sampling for laboratory test to assess mix parameters and its compliance with approved requirements
- Routine QC test for each type of mix per requirements.
- Samples from production to MED to keep supply rating.
- Requirement comes from projects to get asphalt supplied to that site to be tested with third party laboratory, sometimes this information comes a day after the laying when Client is asking for this, Samples must be prepared and submitted for this.
- Establishing Asphalt mix design. Analyzing everything related with this
- constituent materials, proportioning, test reports. Keep an eye on the cost part also when changing anything.
- Asphalt mix re approval. All related coordination with MED until certificate is received. It can be laboratory samples, plant sample or field test etc.
- Developing new mixes certified mixes and noncertified mixes, use of re cycle materials.
- Bitumen modifications/ tests on Bitumen / methods to be adopted to produce the required grades, use of modifiers etc. In this, the cost part is sensitive.
- Recipes of asphalt mixes to plant, corrections or changes as to the available materials.
- Calibration of Laboratory equipment
- In House. Arrange external agency for external calibrations. Condition of equipment / repairing.
- Keeping record of asphalt production, raw material stock.
- Prepare program to bring in new consignment of aggregates, required sizes, quantities.
- Involvement in items related to administration part, Daily plant program, Allocation of Laboratory staff as to requirements coming from site.
- Program regarding submitting samples from asphalt production and Unbound material production to keep the supply rating of the Company with Ministry Laboratory list of approved suppliers.
- Develop a List for approval the requirement of equipments / staff for Laboratory and plants
- Full involvement in ISO related matters to keep valid Certification.
- Understanding on Cement treated mixes like CTB (Aggregate - cement mix), mix design preparation for this.
- Understanding on relevant Specifications / relevant Standards from Clients or Specification Agencies so as to keep compliance with stated requirements.
- Understanding on Cut back Bitumen Road Oils (Prime coat) / Emulsions (Tack coat)
- different types.
- Understanding Types and Test requirements of Unbound materials (Road base / Subbase / Fill materials/ Soil classification), Pipe bedding & surround materials.
- Should understand concrete mix design.
- Comply with all safety policies, procedures, and establishes safe practices.
- Prepare and maintain Daily Progress records, QC Charts, and Testing Records.

**_Qualifications and Education Requirements_**
- A Degree preferred in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field.

**_Skills/Personal Traits_**
- Management experience strongly preferred, minimum 10 years in Asphalt &Road layers production, design & Testing.
- Exceptionally well organized with an aptitude for data
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal

- Able to generate budgets and reports
