Key Role: The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, andoverseeing the electrical systems for a high-profile museum project in Mecca. This role involves ensuring the delivery of reliable, efficient, and safeelectrical infrastructure, including lighting, power distribution, security,and specialized museum systems. The Electrical Engineer will collaborate witharchitects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure theelectrical systems align seamlessly with the project’s architectural andoperational requirements. Responsibilities Electrical System Design Design and specify electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, emergencysystems, and low-voltage systems. Develop customized lighting designs for exhibit spaces, ensuring optimal visualpresentation of artifacts while meeting energy efficiency and conservationstandards. Plan and integrate security systems, fire alarm systems, and audiovisual infrastructurespecific to museum needs. System Integration Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure electrical systems are fully integratedwith architectural and mechanical designs. Coordinate with museum specialists to address specific requirements such asartifact-friendly lighting and uninterrupted power supply for sensitiveequipment. Construction Oversight Supervise the installation and commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring compliancewith design specifications and safety standards. Conduct on-site inspections to verify the quality and functionality of installedsystems. Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during the construction and commissioning phases. Compliance and Quality Assurance Ensure all electrical designs and installations comply with local and international codes,regulations, and standards. Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, including schematics, loadcalculations, and system manuals. Specialized Museum Needs Develop systems to ensure stable power supply for temperature and humidity controlequipment critical to artifact preservation. Design flexible and scalable lighting systems for changing exhibits and gallerylayouts. Ensure electrical systems can handle high visitor volumes while maintaining safety andefficiency. Sustainability and Innovation Incorporate energy-efficient technologies and renewable energy solutions where feasible tomeet the project’s sustainability goals. Research and apply advanced electrical systems and materials to enhance overall projectperformance. Stakeholder Communication Provide regular updates to project managers and stakeholders on electrical systemdesign, progress, and challenges. Work closely with contractors and suppliers to ensure the timely delivery ofequipment and materials. Recommended Technical Skills Proficiency in electrical design software such as ETAP, Auto CAD Electrical, or Dialux forlighting design. Strong knowledge of power distribution, emergency power systems, and low-voltagesystems. Expertise in lighting design for exhibit spaces, with a focus on artifact conservationand visitor experience. Familiarity with building management systems (BMS) and integration with HVAC and firesafety systems. Knowledge of local and international electrical codes, including IEC, NEC, and BSstandards. Experience with renewable energy solutions and energy efficiency strategies. Recommended Soft Skills Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical challenges quickly andefficiently. Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills to coordinate with architects, engineers, andcontractors. Attention to Detail: Precision in designing and reviewing electrical systems to ensurereliability and safety. Communication: Effective communication skills to convey technical concepts to diversestakeholders. Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and prioritizeeffectively in a fast-paced project environment. Cultural Awareness: Sensitivity to the cultural and environmental context of theproject’s location. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Minimum Experience At least 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a strong background indesign and build projects, preferably in culturally significant or complexfacilities such as museums, exhibition spaces, or heritage buildings.
