Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be: Controlling, monitoring, and communicating room status with the front desk. Practicing safe work habits; following MSDS and OSHA standards; wearing protective safety equipment and participating in safety committees as directed. Ensuring quality services are rendered in meeting guest needs and enhancing guest relations. Inspecting, monitoring, and maintaining the level of cleanliness in rooms, storage areas, laundry, restrooms, and public areas as assigned while maintaining the IHG Clean program. Enforcing standard procedures for the acceptance, security, and return of guest lost and found items. Assisting in conducting inventories of uniforms, linen, supplies, and equipment as required and ordering and receiving supplies to maintain adequate inventory levels. Providing ongoing training to Room Attendants and Housepersons. Assisting in cost control and payroll. What we need from you: It’s a physical role, and you’ll be on your feet most of the day, so fitness is important. Occasional lifting of items up to 50 pounds / 23 kilograms and/or pushing/pulling heavy objects. You may need to bend and kneel to complete some activities. Literacy skills - reading, writing, and basic math skills. Flexible attitude to shifts – you may be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays. High school education, GED, or equivalent experience. Minimum 3 years of experience working in housekeeping is required in a high-volume hotel, conference center, or resort, with at least one of those years in a supervisory role.
